Type IIR disposable surgical masks are designed to help the wearer prevent the spread of respiratory droplets produced by coughing or sneezing, they also feature a splash-resistant layer of fabric that in turn, protects the wearer from splashes of blood and bodily fluids.

These 3 ply face masks have an integrated nose clip to ensure a close fit and are certified for medical use. 

Type IIR Face Masks are normally used for infection control in hospitals, clinics, general practice surgeries, dental surgeries, and other healthcare institutions. Their key medical purposes are to prevent medical professionals from contaminating their patients, equally, the masks prevent potential contamination of medical professionals by patients’ body fluids droplets (i.e. droplets of saliva, blood, sneezes etc.) that could be easily inhaled or splash on clinicians’ faces. This means that the Face Masks Type IIR provides 2-way protection – they help to protect both the wearers and the people around them. Type IIR (European Standard) fluid-resistant surgical mask is equivalent to the Level 2 American Standard.
